Where to Begin

Planning a cremation can be overwhelming, but you are not alone in this. We’re here to support you throughout this journey and make this process one of love, healing, and life celebration. Below is some information to help you get started, but you can contact us at any time if you need help.

What to Expect When We Meet

When you meet with a member of our staff, we will educate you on the many different options available to you which range from:

  • Simple cremation
  • Visitation followed by cremation
  • Cremation with a memorial service
  • Complete traditional funeral

We will ask you about your loved one to gain an understanding of the person whose life we are honoring. We will use this time to communicate your ideas and preferences, share your loved one’s life story, revisit memories and highlight their accomplishments. Our professionals will use this information to guide you in the creation of a personalized, meaningful celebration of your loved one’s life. Communicating this information enables us to:

  • Prepare and file official death certificate
  • Schedule any services or events you might choose (including location, date and time) if there will be any form of visitation, memorial service and/or burial.
  • Select a casket which can be cremated or buried, an urn or other products you may need
  • Choosing an interment option for the cremation urn such as a mausoleum or interment plot or, if you are choosing a traditional burial, the place of final disposition.
  • Drafting of the obituary
  • Arranging necessary transportation, if applicable

We would like to make this process as smooth and stress-free for you as possible. Please remember to bring the following information about your loved one with you:

  • Full legal name and home address
  • Social Security Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Place of Death
  • Father’s name
  • Mother’s maiden name
  • Veteran’s discharge papers (DD-214)
  • Highest level of education your loved one completed
  • Occupation
  • Information about the interment location, if applicable
  • Clergy name and phone number, if applicable
  • Names and relationships of the survivors
  • A copy of the insurance policy, or the policy information, if using to pay for funeral expenses
  • A photograph of your loved one
