I was born and raised in O’Fallon, graduated O’Fallon Township High School class of 1983. Married Christine A. Brennan of Collinsville, IL. I have a daughter Emily K. Schildknecht who attended St. Clare Catholic School, graduated OTHS class of 2022 and is attending McKendree University. I retired from the O’Fallon Fire Department, am the former treasurer of the City of O’Fallon, served on the School Board of O’Fallon District 90, Past President of the O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce, current member of the Rotary International Noon Club, Illinois/Missouri Funeral Director Embalmer, Illinois licensed Insurance agent and a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
I attended Belleville Area College (currently Southwestern Illinois College) general studies and fire science, gratuate of St. Louis Community College, Funeral Service Education, St. Louis University School of Medicine Medical-Legal Death Investigations and Retired St. Clair County Deputy Coroner, current Bond County Deputy Coroner.

Christine is a licensed funeral director/embalmer and life insurance agent in the State of Illinois. She received her Associates of Applied Science degree from St. Louis Community College in mortuary science. She was on the Dean’s list and was proudly elected a class officer by fellow classmates. She completed her internship, apprenticeship and then began her continuous employment with Schildknecht Funeral Home.
Christine is a Certified Crematory Operator through Matthews Cremation, a member of Cremation Association of North America, a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Illinois Funeral Directors Association, and a member and former President of the St. Clair County Funeral Directors Association.
Prior to entering funeral service, she was a legal assistant for over 20 years. Some of her accomplishments during her career in law include being elected an officer of the St. Clair County Legal Professionals Association and being nominated for Outstanding Young Woman of America.
Christine is married to Curtis Schildknecht. She is a lifelong resident of Collinsville, Illinois and a lifelong member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and prior member of the Cemetery Board.

John Sissom has been a member of the staff since 1967 working with three generations of the Schildknecht family. John is a funeral assistant working visitations and funerals and various positions as needed. He received his Certified Cremtory Operator Certification from Matthews International in Florida in 2008. John is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired member of the O’Fallon Volunteer Fire Department. He resides in O’Fallon with his wife Sandra, they have been married for over 54 years and have a son named Daniel. They enjoy traveling and are avid NASCAR fans.

Greg Faragher has been a member of the staff since December of 2020. He received his Certified Crematory Operator Certification in the spring of 2021 from the Cremation Association of North America and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota’s Curtis L. Carlson School of Management. Originally from Canada, Greg has lived in the Shiloh area since 2000.
Jamie Gould is the administrative assistant here at Schildknecht Funeral Home. Growing up, Jamie moved around with her military family until finally settling in O'Fallon in 1993 and came to us in 2020 after working many years as a paralegal. She attended Southwestern Illinois College for her legal studies, then transferred to McKendree University for her Bachelor's degree.
